How is BYgo different from PhotoPills?

PhotoPills shows you data. BYgo makes a decision. It analyses conditions and tells you directly whether to go out and shoot, rather than leaving you to interpret numbers yourself.

Does BYgo work for analog film photography?

Yes. BYgo recommends specific film stocks matched to actual shooting conditions, with push and pull development notes where relevant.

BYgo is a light planning tool for photographers, built and operated by Taushik Mandal, based in Barcelona, Spain. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Email address If you sign up for the BYgo weekly digest or create an account, we collect your email address. We use it to send you the content you asked for. Nothing else.

Usage analytics We collect anonymous data about how people use BYgo: which cities are searched, which features are used, how long people stay. This data is aggregated and not tied to any individual. We use it to understand what is working and what needs improving.

Cookies BYgo uses cookies for two purposes: to keep the site functioning correctly, and to understand how people find and use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, location, payment details, or any sensitive personal data. We do not sell data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who sees your data

Your email address is stored securely and is only accessible to Bygo team. We do not share it with anyone.

Analytics data is processed through third-party tools (such as Google Analytics or similar). These tools receive anonymous, aggregated data only.

Your rights under GDPR

You are based in or visiting from the European Union, which means GDPR applies. You have the right to:

Ask us to correct or delete your data

Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we delete it within 30 days. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form with no personal identifiers.
